Position Summary
The HVAC Construction Project Manager will oversee and manage HVAC construction projects, focusing on central plant equipment replacements, piping replacements, and other HVAC construction work within existing buildings. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with strong communication and project management skills to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with our construction team, clients and subcontractors to deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage HVAC construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project scope, budget and timeline.
- Oversee the installation and replacement of central plant HVAC equipment, piping systems and related infrastructure in commercial, industrial and institutional facilities.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and subcontractors to develop project plans, specifications and schedules.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and address any issues or challenges that arise during construction.
- Manage project budgets, track expenses, and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure cost effective materials and services.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including schedules, progress reports, and change orders using project management software (e.g., Jonas Construction Software or similar).
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates on project status and addressing their concerns or requirements.
- Ensure all work complies with industry standards, building codes, and client specifications.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, troubleshoot issues, and implement creative solutions to keep projects on track.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve project goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or a related field (or equivalent).
- 5-10 years of experience in HVAC construction project management, with a focus on central plant equipment and piping replacements.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex HVAC construction projects in commercial, industrial and institutional settings.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, piping and related equipment.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Jonas, Procore, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional organizations skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, team members, and subcontractors.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills a creative, proactive approach to overcoming project challenges.
- Knowledge of construction safety regulations and industry standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), CCM (Certified Construction Manager) or LEED accreditation.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) or other advanced construction technologies.
- Familiarity with energy efficient HVAC systems and sustainable construction practices.
- Advanced proficiency in Jonas Construction Software or similar platforms.

What We Offer:
- Salary: $100,000 -$120,000 per year
